Black and White

I’ve been stressed. I’ve been exhausted. I’ve been…. Not myself. Sometimes real life in NYC is questionable and I often go through months at a time where I wonder what all this is for. Then I have some time to reflect, some time with family, some… time. That’s when I realize all the mumbo jumbo I worry about doesn’t really matter in the end. If I’m not the best, it doesn’t make a difference.  I’d much rather achieve everything I want far under the radar.

Lengthy Alterations

The unseasonably warm weekend was a refreshing break from the coldest winter I can remember.  With that being said, I didn’t think I’d be breaking out my favorite leather jacket any time soon.  This Zara jacket was an impulse purchase last Thanksgiving, and was most definitely the right move.  Originally, the jacket sleeves were short on me, but everything else about the jacket was perfect.  In order to solve this common problem of mine, I decided to purchase ribbed wool not only to lengthen the sleeves, but also give it a warmer, cozy feeling of a cardigan.   It was the first time I did anything like this and was well worth it.  The sleeves came out perfect and definitely makes the jacket much more comfortable and warm.

Gucci vs. Guzzi

I was invited to stop by Vespa Brooklyn over the weekend to check out their collection of colorful bikes.  I knew this would be an amazing photo opportunity and their inventory did not disappoint.  Vespa as a brand is so iconic – the Italian city backdrop is not complete without them. Zipping around old winding roads those summer nights was exhilarating, and I’m reminded of those experiences every time I see a Vespa here in New York.

Polar Vortex Protest

It is COLD.  This is probably the coldest winter I can remember.  Since I moved to NY four and a half years ago, winter has actually become my preferred season.  There’s something really welcoming about being banished to the indoors.  I must say, it’s pretty cost effective too.

However, I do long for summer when browsing my favorite shopping sites – especially when I come across these beauties below.  Perhaps Hubby needs to bring me on a Miami getaway…  Or maybe I’ll just wait snuggled on my couch until summer comes to me.
