Jan, the executive assistant who sits on my floor always provides the best commentary… bringing the fashionistas back down to earth one gal at a time. When I walked by her desk less visited this morning (she has two) I noticed the most amazing editorial tacked on her bulletin board… The Simpsons Go to Paris with Linda Evangelista circa August 2007 Harper’s Bazaar.
I’m so in love with this collaboration for a few reasons. First of course, it’s The Simpsons, but more importantly, its a collaboration of taste and humor. Fashion can be so serious, catty, competitive and superficial. To me, there’s nothing more refreshing when its relatable to everyone but still chic and luxurious. In my opinion, humor is what facilitates advanced fashion’s relatability to the common folk while still protecting the integrity of its importance and stature to the industry. Enjoy.
I’ve never been particularly obsessed with Taylor Swift. After flipping through the lack luster line up of this year’s Grammys, I was pleasantly surprised when Miss Swift popped up in her incredible Gucci Premier (netted?) floor length silver gown with crystal waist and neck details. Everything about this gown is perfect… Flawless even. Its so classy!I was so impressed by this gown, I decided to do some internet digging to see what I’ve been missing. Below you can see my four favorite looks (the J Mendel is incredible too). I think there is a lot more to come from this style star. Kudos to whomever is dressing her.
It is COLD. This is probably the coldest winter I can remember. Since I moved to NY four and a half years ago, winter has actually become my preferred season. There’s something really welcoming about being banished to the indoors. I must say, it’s pretty cost effective too.
However, I do long for summer when browsing my favorite shopping sites – especially when I come across these beauties below. Perhaps Hubby needs to bring me on a Miami getaway… Or maybe I’ll just wait snuggled on my couch until summer comes to me.

As an artist, the couture shows are something I always look forward to. The craftsmanship, color schemes, design and quality of work on display are such an inspiration – and are truly the foundation of fashion as a form of expression. Below, my favorite looks from the week.
